The Gulf Coast Town Center is still fairly new and still seems to be growing. It is just 18 miles away from Olivia’s House and can be reached in 40 minutes. With over 99 shops and restaurants and also a cinema complex, there’s plenty to do in the center and the village-like atmosphere is arranged to keep you busy for hours. It is an open air shopping city with beautiful landscaped Palm streets. Since the center is huge, it is also necessary to move your car from one area to another – JC Penney, Super Target, Belk, Ross, Marshall and Dick’s Sporting Goods are just a few of the shops are located here. There are a variety of restaurants offering casual dining scattered around the shopping center. The absolute highlight is the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World. The shop is so large that really powerful boats are exhibited inside of it. Whether you are hikers, campers, fishermen, boaters, quadbike riders, climbers, hunters, or even if you aren’t interested in any of these activities, Bass Pro is guaranteed to delight.

This beautiful outdoor outlet mall is comprised of 140 shops from famous brands. You will also find relatively rare shops such as an A&F outlet on the very extensive grounds. This should be the first stop for those looking for leisure and sportswear. It is worth a visit at any time during the week but be careful on weekends because it can be very overcrowded. There are many designer brands which offer customers unbeatable deals to tempt money from their wallets and, additionally, a few nice restaurants and cafes situated in a fantastically beautiful maritime atmosphere. Countless parking spots surround the center.

We highly recommend Naples Flatbreads, who offer a reasonably-priced lunchtime special – the flatbread and lobster is a real specialty of theirs. The Miromar Outlets are about a 40 minute drive from Olivia’s House.

The Tanger Outlet has its own charm – it’s too small to go especially for the outlet, but highly recommended if you would like to go for a nice day out on Sanibel Island and spend an hour or two doing some relaxing shopping. The shops are all connected and it is nice to stroll from one to the next. It is not so crowded here, especially during the week. We have also learned that you can sometimes find cheaper prices here than in the same shops in the large, well-frequented outlets. Our tip: Banana Republic, where you can find some great deals at the back of the shop.

The Tanger Outlet is located right on the way to Sanibel Island and Captiva and is only about a 30 minute drive from Olivia’s House.
